Tasting Note
This is a great introduction to Pinotage if you have yet to experience this unique-to-South Africa varietal. The nose is subtle, showing notes of bacon, black cherry and vanilla. It's more expressive on the dry medium-full-bodied palate with flavours of mocha, ripe black cherry, crushed blackberry and vanilla leading to a medium-long spicy finish. Well-balanced with good complexity, it would make a welcome match to grilled lamb steaks. (VINTAGES panel, Dec. 2009)
